Growing up on Disney Cars + Free Coloring Sheets

11 years ago I took my oldest to the movies for the first time. We soon figured out that his little body was too tiny to keep the seat from folding up on him. The sweet lady next to us suggested a booster, which I didn’t even know was a thing! Logan and I traveled to the entryway and snagged a booster seat as they were quickly being snatched up by the many moms of toddlers at the season’s most popular kids movie: The first Disney Cars movie.

Growing up on Disney Cars

I remember marveling at how fast my little guy was growing up, and how he was such a big boy sitting in that theater chair all by himself. If I only knew then how big he was going to get! My now-14-year-old towers over me by at least half a foot. Last week I took a trip down memory lane when he and I went to see Disney Cars 3 on a mommy and son date, just like the one from 11 years ago. Well… It wasn’t exactly the same. Now he’s the one holding the door for me, and he definitely eats way more popcorn now!   Going to see Disney Cars 3!

We absolutely loved Disney’s Cars 3, as much as we enjoyed the first one. When Logan was a preschooler I got him all the Disney Cars characters, and we kept them in storage until just recently. I came across them while I was getting stuff out for a big garage sale, and little Johnny inherited the character cars that used to entertain his brother. Isn’t it crazy how things come full-circle like that? Playing with our favorite Disney CARS characters! The die-cast cars are obviously super durable, since they’ve been able to last through 4 children. I’m thinking of adding some of the new characters to our collection. At the least, we need a Jackson Storm and Cruz Ramirez, don’t you think? Last I checked on Amazon they were almost sold out of the Cruz ones. Yikes!

Johnny is still too young to take to the movies, but he can look forward to watching Cars 3 when it comes out on video. In the meanwhile, we’ve got these fun printable coloring sheets to keep him busy. There’s Lightning McQueen, Cruz Ramirez, and Jackson Storm, plus some bookmarks and fun game sheets. Looking for some boredom busters for your kiddos? These should keep them busy for a while! Click the link below each image to download it to your computer, or right-click and save the image.
