Thank heavens, Winter Vacation is finally here! Even though we all have 2 whole weeks off together, the time still seems to just fly by. The days right before Christmas are the busiest. Then the following week I sometimes feel a little bit of after-Christmas blues as we repack decorations and “undo” Christmas. I’ve been asking my big boy what he wants to do this holiday season, particularly after Christmas, and together we came up with a to-do list for our Winter Break. No chores allowed on the winter to-do list, just fun family activities. Check it out:
- Take a nighttime drive and look at Christmas lights from the car
- Have a family game night (play Apples to Apples)
- Bake cut-out cookies
- Watch a movie and drink hot chocolate with marshmallows
- Make homemade play-doh
- Learn a Christmas Carol by heart
- Go stargazing
- See the movie Frozen (we’ve had a free pass for a while now and I keep meaning to go!)
- Try out a new recipe (with kid help)
I’m thinking these family activities should be enough to keep us busy through the vacation. Do you have any fun stuff planned for the holiday season?
