The theme this week for me was “celebrate”. There were a lot of things to celebrate. Also, I’ve been a bit down lately. Writing out my celebrations helps me to stay focused on the positive. 🙂

This week there are 5 things I’m celebrating:
We’re all celebrating a visit with my sister from Jersey!!!
Kelly and her daughter arrived Thursday and I was sooooo blessed that my flex schedule allowed me to spend Friday with her. My 5 siblings and I (yes, there are 6 of us!) and our significant others all went to a nice restaurant Saturday night to celebrate Kelly’s and my dad’s birthdays this month.
I’m celebrating twins playing together
It is seriously so cute. Emily can be a bit of a tease (or is Madeline such an easy target?), and she likes to stick her fingers under the bathroom door while her sister is going potty. They’ve always had a good relationship (more on that here), and I’m finding so much joy in watching them grow up together.
Here are a few extra kid pics just for fun.
I’ll choose to celebrate the first week back at school for John.
This one is a bit of a stretch because it was suuuuuuuuuch a tough week! It’s taking some serious effort not to gripe about it, and to find the good in these hard times. But here we go: We’re back to meeting at gas stations and parking lots to swap cars. He brings me the one with all the kids and I take off with them while John heads to his night classes. These nights are hard with 3 little ones after an already long day at work. BUT, on the positive side, I think this schedule will work better for us than last semester’s did. Monday nights the little guys are coming to my church meeting with me and playing with other kids their age. Thursday nights are like my Friday because of my flex schedule, so it doesn’t matter really how tough it is, I don’t have to be anywhere the next morning. It’s only 2 nights of classes when I’m on my own for the dinner/bath/bedtime chaos (ahem, plus 3 nights of work). You see, it’s a reason to celebrate after all! 😉
Let’s just take a moment and celebrate the amazingness of Yogi tea.
This tea is the bomb dot com. Yes, I just said that. And it’s true! I am currently enjoying an evening cup of Honey Lavender Stress Relief. It helps ease the tension after a crazy day. On my long work days I bring a bag of Sweet Tangerine Positive Energy. I’m not exaggerating, the Positive Energy tea boosts my energy and puts a smile on my face. My mother-in-law got me hooked on this stuff and you have got to try it!
I’m celebrating the blessing of being a mom.
Because not every woman gets to be a mom. And not every child has the privilege of having their mommy close by. And because it truly is a blessing. I treasure every moment with these little guys. Maybe it’s the fact that I recently watched this video and sobbed, or maybe I’m just overwhelmed with thankfulness for what I’ve been given.
Things are really hard for us right now. John and I are rarely home at the same time and we’re both under bearing some heavy burdens. I’m learning to accept and be content with my situation, since it’s not looking like I can change it. I find it helpful to seek out the good things during a difficult time.
So what are you celebrating?
