2012-2013 was a great year for me as a teacher. My class got to do some fun projects, performances, and even a walking field trip to the park! The only reason we could do so much was because I had some great parent volunteers. As the year was coming to a close, I wanted to give them a gift to say thank you for the hours they spentĀ volunteering in my classroom.
This is what I came up with:
I found the cold tumblers on Amazon, but I’ve also seen them at Dollar Tree. I stuffed them with tissue paper, added some candy, and used plain old Microsoft Word for the tags. My volunteers were really appreciative, and I felt that these said “thank you” better than a simple card would have. Seriously, these classroom volunteers made so many days bearable, helping me to corral 26 little 5-year-olds and managing the paint table for various art projects.
Do you have creative ways to say thank you? I’d love to hear about them in the comments!
