Hanging laundry outside to dry! During the summer it’s so gorgeous outside, I’ve found that a super easy way of saving money is to air dry my laundry. We are subject to using a laundry room at our apartment complex. Boo! Last summer I hadn’t saved for the summer (stupid, I know), so I was struggling with coming up with ways to save money.
I realized how I can save money BIG TIME by simply putting my laundry outside to air dry. It costs us $1.00 a load to dry laundry using the complex dryers. So every time I line dry as opposed to use the dryer to dry my clothes, I’m saving money! It’s awesome. You should try it, it is not a lot more work.
Tip: If you do choose to line dry your clothes, don’t use a nylon-braided rope. We did that last year and it shredded under the exposure to the sun and left green nylon shards on all our clothes. I got a piece of rope that was labeled “clothesline” from our local hardware store. It’s working great so far!
