Oh boy, was this a much-needed holiday! I love that our nation honors Presidents by giving most people the day off. For my day off, me and my little ones went out for some fresh air!
Friday we went to a park that was “out of town” because there are only two parks in town and we go to those a lot. This park is amazing. It has a skateboard/trick bike ramp, baseball fields, and a sidewalk that wraps around the whole thing with softly rolling hills of grass. The little guys had a blast running up and down the hills.
Has cape, will travel ;P
I had brought along enough snacks to feed a small army, so when the kids started to get tired but we still had food I threw them into the car for some retail therapy.
Armed with a 20% off coupon, I hit up my favorite children’s consignment shop. We left with a slew of skirts, tank tops, dresses, shirts and shorts. Is it just me, or do kids grow out of things faster than you can keep them stocked with clothes?
Then on Monday we ended up at our apartment complex’s park for more slides and running around outside. We are definitely blessed to be enjoying such warm weather while the rest of the country is having real winter! We topped off a great weekend with a trip to FroYo. 🙂
While the rest of the country is being bombarded by rain and snow, us San Diegans are smack dab in the middle of a winter heat wave. It has been HOT here. After our park trip I ended up with a sunburn. Oops.
I headed back to work on Tuesday thankful for the chance to spend an extra day with my little guys out in the fresh air and beautiful San Diego sunshine.
